Slimming World has been a key weight management partner to Government for over 10 years, first with One You, the Government’s biggest ever weight management drive, and more recently with Better Health, the campaign where we’ve supported millions of people to keep their health on track during lockdown.

We work closely with the NHS too – Slimming World is already prescribed by GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals and we are also proud to support patients through the NHS Digital Weight Management Programme.

We’ve an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive Business Development Manager to join our Partnerships team.

About the role…

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday


This is a hybrid role with time split between working at home and working in our Head Office, with more time working in the office during the initial induction period.

You’ll play a key role in shaping our offer, building relationships with commissioners and employers, and translating strategic opportunities into impactful partnerships. You’ll also:

  • Identify and secure new business in public health and workplace wellbeing sectors, leading tendering, proposals and contract negotiations alongside the Bid Manager.
  • Build strategic relationships with commissioners, employers, and stakeholders, growing visibility through external events and forums.
  • Strengthen contracts via relationship management and service innovation, maintaining a strong partner and client pipeline.
  • Ensure seamless transition from contract to delivery through internal collaboration and strategic alignment and shaping, piloting and rolling out workplace wellbeing programmes.

About you…


We’d love to hear from you if you have healthcare market experience and are passionate about delivering an outstanding service. You’ll also have:

  • Experience in business development within public health, wellbeing, or related sectors.
  • A strong understanding of public health commissioning, funding, and procurement, with excellent relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Confidence in preparing proposals, tenders, and presentations and a strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insight into actionable plans.
  • A collaborative mindset with experience working across departments to deliver integrated solutions.

You might also have:

  • Experience in workplace wellbeing or employee engagement programmes.
  • Familiarity with NHS structures, local authority commissioning, and health inequalities.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and data-driven business development.
