Practitioner Psychologist - Adult Inpatient

Job Title: Locum Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist
Banding: Equivalent to NHS Band 8a/8b (DOE)
Location: Derbyshire
Working Hours: Part time - up to 4 days per week
Salary: Highly competitive hourly rate (DOE, paid weekly via Pulse)

Join our client's service as a Locum Psychologist and make a real difference in a specialist, CQC-rated ‘Good’ service for women with personality disorder and complex mental health needs. Based in Derbyshire, you’ll work within a modern, purpose-built facility, supporting Derbyshire local authority and NHS partners. This locum opportunity offers flexibility, excellent rates, and the chance to work with a leading independent provider in a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver psychological assessments, formulations, and evidence-based interventions for women with complex mental health needs.
• Work collaboratively with the MDT to develop and review care plans.
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions.
• Offer supervision and support to Assistant Psychologists and colleagues.
• Contribute to service evaluation, development, and clinical audits.
• Support both the specialist personality disorder and acute wards, adapting your approach to individual needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Essential:
  • HCPC registration as a Clinical, Forensic, or Counselling Psychologist
  • Experience working with adults with complex mental health needs, ideally in a forensic or inpatient setting
• Desirable:
  • Experience with personality disorder and/or acute mental health presentations
  • Experience supervising junior staff or contributing to service development
