The City Rep is a dynamic, results oriented individual who spearheads Purple’s expansion within their designated city or region, by building strong relationships with Small Businesses (SMBs) and broader city stakeholders. As the primary brand ambassador, the City Rep directly engages with SMBs to secure sign-ups, manages inbound leads for their territory and relationships for their city. Ultimately “Paints the city Purple”.

Purpose

The core mission of the City Rep is to:

  • Drive crowdsourced networks on the Purple ConneX App
  • Encourage SMBs onto the free Connect license, including using our compliance router
  • Encourage upgrades to paid SMB products
  • Drive future monetisation options such as through coupons or advertising

Responsibilities - what you'll do

Purple Connect:

  • Proactively identify, approach and engage with local businesses e.g. Hospitality venues to present the benefits of Purple Connect, by conducting compelling presentations and demonstrations of the solution.
  • Actively manage and convert all SMB leads for the assigned city, working through the SMB sales cycle
  • Represent Purple professionally and enthusiastically at local business events, networking opportunities and community gatherings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing SMB clients within the city, building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships. Gather feedback from businesses to inform product and service improvements
  • Run sequences for tier 3 opportunities through our traditional channels to drive opportunities. 

Purple ConneX:

  • Proactively add venues within the designated city to the Purple ConneX app, where WiFi is present and the venue has not been previously logged, to drive crowdsourced networks on the Purple ConneX app.

Reporting & CRM Management:

  • Provide regular, detailed reports on sign-up progress, lead conversion, marketing insights and challenges
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions and activities within the CRM system, ensuring data is kept up-to-date and accurate

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - you'll be able to effectively engage with a wide range of individuals, from business owners to community leaders.
  • Proactive and resilient mindset - this role requires a self-starter who is comfortable with a “get-it-done” attitude and isn’t afraid to try new things. Bouncing back from setbacks and pivoting with fresh ideas as we build out our city initiatives.
  • Relationship building skills - you will be the face of Purple in your city. A friendly, personable approach and the ability to build trust and rapport quickly are essential for success.
  • Results-oriented approach - the ability to proactively identify, approach and engage with businesses to secure sign-ups, manage leads and drive product adoption is a must.

Ideally you will also bring:

  • Experience with field sales, including door-to-door sales or cold outreach
  • Experience in communicating with small to medium businesses
  • Familiarity with local business communities and a passion for helping them thrive
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets
