Rate of Pay: £13.76 per hour

Working Hours: 9am – 5pm

Contract Type: Casual

Work Base: Riddings Distribution Hub


Job Description

Purpose & Scope

As stock assistant you will be required to sort and store stock so that it can be redistributed the shops as required. You will need to allocate stock to different types, quality and saleability. A basic understanding of vintage items will be required as this will need to be separated to be distributed to shops that sell this type of stock, as will the ability to select stock that would be appropriate for our eBay operation.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Stock Management    

  • Effectively sort and store stock in different types and qualities.
  • Work alongside Hub Manager to ensure that stock that is needed is selected and delivery arranged.
  • Work alongside the delivery drivers to ensure they have the stock that is needed for the shops they will be delivering to. All stock being labelled for the correct shop.
  • Ensure that Gift Aid stock is clearly marked as Gift Aid as per the current process.


Policy and procedure 

  • Ensure that all Valley CiDS Shop and online Security procedures and policies are correctly followed.
  • Ensure that Valley CiDS Health and Safety policies and protocols are being fully adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure Valley CiDS Gift Aid policies are followed. 
  • Ensure that Manual Handling guidelines are consistently followed.
  • Ensure that Valley CIDS Safeguarding processes in relation to children and vulnerable adults are implemented consistently
  • Ensure that Valley CIDS Equality & Diversity policies and practices are adhered to by volunteers
  • Ensure that Valley CIDS Data Protection & Confidentiality policies are adhered to by volunteers


Administration

  • Check emails regularly so that any stock requests are actioned in a timely fashion, shops communicated with to confirm whether or not the stock requested is available.
  • Answer calls from shop management teams requesting stock.


Other 

  • Uphold and promote the ethos and values of Valley CiDS at all times. 
  • Keep up to date with all Valley CiDS activity throughout the whole of the charity, engaging and supporting as and when required to help build publicity and help maximise income. 
  • Be willing to travel to training sites and meetings in line with the needs of the business. 
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities, appropriate to the level of this post.
