Weighbridge Operator - Rotherham
4 on 4 off shift pattern (Mon-Fri hours - 05:30-17:00, Saturday hours - 05:45-16:00, Sunday hours - 06:00-1600
Salary: £30,609.44 per annum
We are looking for candidates that have experience in a similar role, preferably in the waste industry although other process based industries will be considered. A good understanding of waste regulations, duty of care and transfer notes is required. Most importantly, as the face of Biffa, you will have excellent customer service and communication skills. Due to the variety of the role, excellent organisational skills are essential and you must have the ability to cope with fluctuating work volumes and complex problems.
Key responsibilities:
· Ensuring all waste-in and waste-out movements and internal movements are recorded accurately and certifying that details are accurate and paperwork is complete in accordance with legislative requirements
· Work in accordance with SHEQ policies, including the reporting of close calls & incidents
· Ensuring that the dispatch of containers meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
· Maintenance of daily stock control data including unprocessed stock, work in progress and finished stock
· The collation and supply of reports from the weighbridge data system for site management as required
· Maintain and organise weighbridge calibrations in line with Biffa and trading standards regulations
· Accurate processing of information to ensure details for invoicing are correct and complete
· Site reception duties including handling and forwarding incoming calls, taking and passing messages and greeting and signing in visitors and issuing PPE to visitors.
· Occasional cover for weekly sampling of the site bio filters, including accurate recording of readings.
Essential criteria:
· Experience of using Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel
· Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
· Good customer service and people skills.
· Organisational skills
