About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Operational Resilience, the Trainee Operational Resilience Analyst is a key role that will support the ongoing management and delivery of the firm’s Business Continuity Planning and Management. This will involve providing guidance and support to the relevant teams in the event of an emergency, to ensure a successful recovery with minimal impact on the business and our customers.

Key responsibilities/what you’ll do:

·         Support the maintenance of our Resilience Framework, testing schedule and testing results, ensuring it remains up to date and fit for purpose.

·         Support key processes such as the Operational Resilience Self-Assessment throughout the year.

·         Review and maintain our Important Business Services including resource mapping, ensuring changes in business services are reviewed.

·         Ensure that we have the ability to recover from a Disaster in a timely fashion and with minimal business impact, z.

·         Deputise on the Crisis Management Team in the event of a service interruption.

·         Assist with Business Impact Analysis for the business, documenting, highlighting and providing guidance to manage risks and identified single points of failure.

·         Assist in the creation of a comprehensive programme of resilience testing and validation utilising a variety of testing methods, encompassing people, processes, plans and technology, and ensure the resilience testing plan is executed at the agreed frequencies, reacting to changing priorities and risk environment.

·         Feed into and support the creation of DR runbooks for IT and Operational teams, including its utilisation in “as-live” and desktop scenario testing.

·         Working with key stakeholders, identify where and how critical third parties can feed into our testing plans, assuring that any outsourced providers DR plans are validated and tested through review, challenge and participation.

·         Working with 3rd party suppliers to identify opportunities for improved resilience testing across our services

·         Ensure plans, runbooks and other documents are maintained and updated to reflect all changes.

·         Principal support for audits relating to Operational Resilience.

·         Assist in the preparation of Board and Executive Management Reports.

·         Support Operational Resilience training and awareness across the business.

·         Identify and assess Operational Resilience related risks and issues within our risk management framework.

·         Working across the wider Group to align where appropriate and leverage knowledge and insights.

About the apprenticeship:

As a Trainee Operational Resilience Analyst, you will develop the technical knowledge plus the professional skills and behaviours to work within the Operational Resilience team, gaining valuable work experience plus achieving a qualification through a structured apprenticeship programme to kick-start your career.

Through the Resilience and Emergency Professional apprenticeship, you will learn the skills to competently perform all day-to-day activities that are required within the Operational Resilience team. Within your development program, you will learn and grow technical knowledge such as:

·         Fundamentals and core concepts of managing resilience projects and incident management

·         Understanding business continuity risk management

·         Data collection and analysis

·         Understanding the training and exercising process

·         Effective planning and plan writing

·         Taking a lead on managing resilience projects

·         Advanced concepts in incident management

·         Readiness and resilience

By the end of the apprenticeship, you will achieve the BSc Resilience and Emergencies Professional degree, as well as the Level 6 Resilience and Emergencies Professional apprenticeship. Typically, the apprenticeship will take around 40 months to complete.

This role requires mandatory on-campus attendance at Coventry University throughout the apprenticeship programme. Travel and accommodation will be funded.

·         To be at least 18 years old as of 1st September 2026

·         Be a UK/EEA citizen or have lived in the UK/EEA continuously for the last 3 years

·         To be eligible to work in the UK and not in full-time education

·         Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) grades A* to C (new grades 9 to 4)

·         112 UCAS tariff points (equivalent to BBC at A-level, excludes General Studies), or can hold other level 3 qualification in a relevant subject e.g BTEC 

·         You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject
