Purpose of the role:

ii advice is reshaping the UK financial planning landscape. We are now offering an exciting entry-level apprenticeship, designed for individuals who want to build a long-term career in financial planning and gain hands-on experience across multiple teams while working toward Level 4 professional qualifications.

As a Trainee Financial Planning Adviser, you’ll rotate through key functions of our business — including the Support team, Customer Relationship team, and Adviser team — gaining practical experience at every step. You’ll also gain exposure to our wider proposition, compliance, and operational teams to fully understand how a modern, digitally enabled advice business operates.

This is a varied, engaging and highly developmental role with a clear progression pathway toward becoming a fully qualified Financial Planner.

Key responsibilities/what you’ll do:

Support & Operations

·         Assist with core administrative and operational tasks to ensure smooth client journeys

·         Learn how digital tools, workflows and compliance processes support efficient advice delivery

·         Develop understanding of financial planning documentation, platforms and client onboarding

·         Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives in a fast-moving, tech-enabled environment

Customer Relationship Team

·         Engage directly with clients, supporting them throughout their planning and advice process

·         Build strong communication and relationship-management skills

·         Prepare client materials, gather information and support review meetings

·         Gain confidence working with client data, digital systems and financial planning tools

Adviser Team

·         Shadow Financial Planners and observe client meetings

·         Contribute to preparation of financial plans, suitability letters and recommendations

·         Support financial modelling, tax considerations and investment/retirement planning work

·         Gradually take on more responsibility as skills and qualifications progress

Exposure across the business

·         Work with the Compliance team to understand the regulatory framework and Quality Assurance Teams

·         Understand ii advice’s proposition development, including digital enhancement projects

·         Participate in business initiatives that advance our human-led, digitally enabled strategy

Salary: £28,800

About the apprenticeship:

As a Trainee Financial Planning Adviser, you’ll develop the technical knowledge plus the professional skills and behaviours to work within our exciting and fast-paced ii advice team, gaining valuable work experience plus achieving a qualification through a structured apprenticeship programme to kick-start your career.

Through the Investment Operations Specialist apprenticeship, you will learn and grow technical knowledge in the following areas:

·         Industry and company understanding

·         Regulatory and compliance knowledge

·         Learning of products, systems & processes

·         Explore client service and relationships

·         Providing exceptional service delivery

·         Effective communication and influencing

·         Completion of the CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment) Level 4 Diploma in Investment Advice

By the end of the apprenticeship, you will achieve your Level 4 Investment Operations Specialist Apprenticeship plus you will gain a professional globally recognised qualification with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). Typically, the apprenticeship will take around 18 months to complete.

To apply for this role, you will need:

·         To be at least 18 years old as of 1st September 2026

·         Be a UK/EEA citizen or have lived in the UK/EEA continuously for the last 3 years

·         To be eligible to work in the UK and not in full-time education

·         To have achieved, or predicted to achieve in 2025, a level 3 qualification, such as A-levels or equivalent

·         Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) grades A* to C (new grades 9 to 4)

·         You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject
