The Home:
Our client provides specialist residential care for children with learning disabilities. They are dedicated to delivering high-quality care, supporting young people to overcome adversity and reach their full potential. Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a compassionate, empathetic and motivated Team Leader who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and leading by example within the home.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing direct care and support, ensuring safety, dignity and well-being at all times
• Overseeing and supporting staff to effectively manage behaviours and promote self-control
• Assisting the Manager with daily and weekly operational tasks
• Ensuring referrals are appropriately matched and information is shared effectively
• Delivering clear and informative handovers and delegating appointments
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
• Supporting supervision and mentoring of team members to enhance practice
• Working alongside the Manager to maintain up-to-date documentation including Statement of Purpose, Regulation 45 reports and location risk assessments
• Supporting with personal care where required
• Promoting education, recreational activities and community inclusion
• Implementing and reviewing individual care plans
• Safeguarding children and following whistleblowing and safeguarding procedures
• Monitoring and recording progress, behaviours and care needs
• Managing behaviours through de-escalation and positive reinforcement
• Promoting team development and maintaining high standards of care
• Keeping up to date with legislation, national and local policies
• Maintaining vigilance regarding Health and Safety
You must hold a Full UK Driving Licence with business insurance.
