We’re partnered with a forward -thinking retail technology team that’s investing heavily in modern Quality Engineering. They’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer who doesn’t see quality as a final step, but as something shaped throughout the entire delivery process.

If you enjoy blending functional, non -functional, and automation skills—and you’re passionate about designing systems that are reliable, secure, and built for scale—this is a role where you’ll have real influence.

You’ll be a key figure in evolving how quality is approached across the platform. This includes shaping test strategies, improving automation, strengthening performance insights, and ensuring engineering teams have the right feedback loops to move fast without breaking things.

Embedding QE thinking early and throughout the SDLC, not just during test execution.

Owning the design of test strategies that cover user journeys, system behaviour, and non -functional needs.

Building and maintaining automation using Playwright, and helping drive best practices around test design.

Leading on performance and load testing with tools such as k6, ensuring the platform scales effectively.

Introducing and improving quality checks within CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, repeatable delivery.

Using observability (metrics, logs, traces) to understand system behaviour and guide continuous improvement.

Applying risk -based decision making to focus effort where it has real business impact.

Working closely with engineering, product, design, and security to influence solutions early.

Encouraging strong collaboration through BDD and shared discovery sessions.

Supporting and mentoring engineers on QE approaches and systems thinking.

Hands -on experience with modern automation tooling (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).

Solid coding ability in JavaScript or TypeScript.

Strong background in performance testing with tools like k6 or JMeter.

Experience testing cloud -native systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Awareness of security testing practices and tools such as OWASP ZAP.

Comfortable embedding testing into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Good understanding of API testing, microservices, and event -driven architecture.

Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber and familiarity with Jira/Test Management platforms.

A strong believer in collective ownership of quality.

Someone who can communicate clearly and influence engineering decisions.

Naturally curious and driven to explore how things can be made better.

Comfortable operating in fast -moving, collaborative agile teams.

Able to think in systems and connect technical quality with real customer outcomes.
