Purpose of the Role: 

As a Senior Product Analyst, you’ll take ownership of complex product delivery, providing leadership, deep expertise and strategic thinking across squads and product areas. You’ll play a critical role in shaping how we deliver value, ensuring we are building the right things in the right way for our customers and the business.

 

You’ll own and shape the delivery of significant roadmap initiatives, working closely with Product Managers, squads, stakeholders and senior leaders to deliver high-impact outcomes across multiple journeys, platforms or product areas.

 

Day to day, you’ll own and manage one or more product backlogs, setting clear vision, objectives, success measures and priorities. You’ll lead analysis across problem definition, solution design and delivery, ensuring work is aligned to business strategy, customer needs, regulatory requirements and technical constraints.

 

You’ll bring strong technical and domain expertise, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for your products, platforms and processes. You’ll take a data-led approach to decision-making, using insight to drive continuous improvement and inform strategic recommendations.

 

You’ll be a trusted partner to Product Managers and delivery teams, proactively identifying risks, dependencies and opportunities across squads and platforms. As a senior and established member of the product team you will be expected to lead and mentor colleagues and use your enhanced product skills and capabilities to deliver change.

 

The role requires flexibility, with the expectation that you will work across multiple channels, systems and platforms depending on business needs. You will leverage deep knowledge of ii’s business and technical ecosystems, and work with complex and multiple data sources to inform decisions and make strategic recommendations. You will work closely with Product leadership to ensure product vision, KPIs and direction remain aligned.

Work as a key member in a multidisciplinary squad, including UX, Engineers, QA and Scrum, working on key customer journeys. Delivering digital journey changes, enhancements and support for our customers.

 

Feature Delivery

  • Lead Product Analyst on complex or cross-squad roadmap initiatives, owning delivery end-to-end.
  • Carry out deep analysis of business needs, customer impact, risks, benefits, dependencies and trade-offs
  • Work with Data, UXR and UXD to define problem spaces, scope, success criteria and delivery approach in collaboration with product managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Author high-quality user stories and features including business and technical requirements, data mapping, acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements
  • Act as the delivery team’s SME on key processes, platforms and applications
  • Demonstrate a strong user-centred approach, working with UXD and UXR to understand customer behaviour and to ensure design creates seamless, accessible journeys

 

Leadership and Strategic Delivery

  • Work closely with Senior Product Managers and Technical Leads to influence stakeholders, maintain strategic direction and deliver to plan
  • Lead delivery of large roadmap initiatives and enterprise change projects, following appropriate governance and documentation standards
  • Mentor and support Associate and Product Analysts, providing guidance and feedback
  • Lead by example in ways of working, quality standards and customer focus
  • Communicate confidently with senior and executive stakeholders, to ensure alignment and engagement throughout delivery.
  • Deputise for product managers when required
  • Ensure business readiness for delivered changes, including process mapping and customer service training
  • Demonstrate new functionality and change impacts to stakeholders, capturing feedback for future iterations

 

Roadmap Planning

  • Own, manage and prioritise multiple product backlogs, aligning delivery with strategic roadmaps
  • Understand and manage cross-product and cross-platform dependencies and risks
  • Work closely with Scrum Masters and Delivery Leads to set backlog vision, refine priorities and make proactive delivery decisions
  • Play an active role in all product ceremonies and planning activities

 

Ongoing Ownership & Performance

  • Define and use objectives, KPIs and data to measure product performance
  • Work closely with Data teams and Senior Product Managers to ensure outcomes are driving the business forward
  • Own end-to-end data considerations for key journeys, ensuring ongoing monitoring and insight
  • Use qualitative and quantitative insight to drive iteration and improvement
  • Provide analysis and support for live issues and incidents, working with support teams to drive timely resolution
  • Support discovery activities, business case development and change evaluation processes, providing impact-based recommendations
  • Understand and manage the wider impact of change across products and platforms
  • Challenge existing ways of working and suggest improvements to enhance delivery and outcomes

 

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • Significant experience delivering complex digital products or change initiatives
  • Strong expertise in product analysis, change methodologies and agile delivery
  • Experience working across a range of products for both internal and external customers
  • Strong bias to action, taking ownership to ensure the right outcomes are delivered
  • Proven ability to own and lead delivery across multiple initiatives or product areas
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across teams and locations
  • Experience writing high-quality user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Deep understanding of technical systems, platforms and dependencies
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior audiences
  • Strong prioritisation, decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to independently seek out information to support team goals
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience
