Purpose of role

  • Lead the delivery of efficient, compliant and scalable People & Culture (P&C) operations across all regions, ensuring consistency, governance and operational excellence.
  • Own the P&C operational governance framework, ensuring policies and processes are clearly defined, aligned to legislation and strategy, and applied consistently across regions.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing P&C Operations team, driving accountability, process discipline and high-quality delivery.
  • Report to and work in close partnership with the Chief People Officer (CPO) to shape and deliver operational priorities, ensuring alignment to overall P&C strategy and business direction.

P&C Governance

  • Own the P&C policy and process framework across the employee lifecycle, ensuring alignment with legislation, strategy and culture, and consistent application across all regions.
  • Provide clear visibility of operational performance and compliance risks, proactively identifying issues and ensuring mitigation actions and ownership in alignment with the CPO.
  • Define and track operational KPIs to measure performance, quality and compliance across P&C activities.

P&C Delivery

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, acting as the operational escalation point to ensure disciplined, consistent and compliant delivery.
  • Implement structured controls, timelines and accountability mechanisms to ensure accurate and timely delivery across all P&C activities.
  • Ensure operational outputs (e.g., employee communications, contractual documentation and payroll inputs) are accurate, compliant and quality assured before release.
  • Hold the P&C team accountable for adherence to agreed processes, documentation standards and completion of actions.

Systems & Data Management

  • Oversee HR systems governance, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and scalability.
  • Own HR data governance and reporting, ensuring data is leveraged to inform decision-making, identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive automation and process efficiencies to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Establish clear ownership of data accuracy within the team, maintaining audit trails and documentation standards.

Internal Stakeholder Management

  • Partner proactively with stakeholders across the business to design and embed P&C processes aligned to strategy and culture.
  • Provide clear guidance to managers on process, compliance and case management standards, ensuring fairness and consistency.
  • Identify and escalate risks appropriately, constructively challenging where standards are not upheld.

Leadership & People Management

  • Direct management of P&C Advisors.
  • Lead, coach and develop the P&C Operations team.
  • Set clear performance objectives and delivery standards aligned to business priorities.
  • Build operational capability and succession readiness.
  • Reinforce a strong process discipline mindset and accountability for follow-through.
  • Any other tasks or projects as reasonably requested by the company.
  • Significant experience in People & Culture / HR operations, including leading and developing teams
  • Strong experience operating across multiple regions (UK essential; US desirable)
  • Proven ability to deliver structured, compliant and high-quality HR operations at scale
  • Experience managing complex employee relations and compliance matters
  • Strong understanding of HR systems, data and process improvement
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and delivery
  • Confident stakeholder manager, able to influence, challenge and build effective relationships
  • Data-driven mindset, using insight to inform decisions and drive improvements
  • CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent) desirable
