UBDS Group is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud-based services across complex transformation programmes. This role requires strong expertise in multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure), with a focus on automation, scalability, and resilient service delivery.

You will play a key role in enabling engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions through modern DevOps practices, platform engineering, and cloud-native tooling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and support cloud-based services and infrastructure across AWS and Azure
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, enabling reliable and repeatable deployments
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable and secure environments
  • Support multi-cloud strategies, ensuring interoperability and consistency across AWS and Azure platforms
  • Collaborate with development and data teams to embed DevOps best practices across the delivery lifecycle
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of cloud services
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to support operational excellence
  • Drive automation and standardisation, reducing manual processes and improving efficiency
  • Support incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tooling, processes, and engineering standards

Skills & ExperienceEssential
  • Strong experience in DevOps engineering within cloud environments
  • Proven experience building and supporting cloud-based services
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure (multi-cloud)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g. GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or similar)
  • Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience implementing monitoring and logging solutions (e.g. CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity management
  • Experience working in agile, collaborative delivery environments
Desirable
  • Experience working in public sector or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with platform engineering and reusable infrastructure patterns
  • Experience supporting data platforms or event-driven architectures
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with serverless architectures (e.g. AWS Lambda, Azure Functions)

Security Requirements
  • This role may require Security Clearance (SC).
  • Candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo the clearance process.
