Registered Manager (Ofsted) 

Salary: upto £50,400 per annum 

Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire   

Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week – Monday to Friday with some flexibility to meet the needs of the service.  

Closing Date: Midnight on the

A bit about the service  

We are Proud to introduce our beautiful new children's home in the heart of Chesterfield, created to provide a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment for up to four children and young people with learning and physical disabilities.

This is an incredibly special moment for our team as we prepare to welcome our first child into the home.  As Registered Manager, you'll play a leading role in shaping the culture, building your team, and setting the standards of care and compassion that will define this home for the years to come.

A bit about the role  

As the Registered Manager, you'll be the driving force behind the home, ensuring that every aspect of care, leadership, and compliance meets the high standards set by Ofsted.

You'll take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring it operates safely, efficiently, and in line with all relevant legislation and quality standards. You’ll create an environment where both children and staff can truly flourish.

As Registered Manager you'll lead the home with passion, vision and professionalism, ensuring that every child receives the highest standards of person-centred care.  Working closely with families, schools, and other professionals, you’ll champion each child's unique needs while promoting their well-being and development.

You'll inspire, support, and guide your team, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning and high expectation.  Through regular supervision, mentoring, and professional development, you will ensure your staff are confident, motivated, and equipped to deliver outstanding care. Your leadership will ensure the home consistently meets Ofsted standards and provides a welcoming, inclusive, and empowering environment for both children and your team.

How you'll help to create brighter futures  

Some key responsibilities of your role as a Registered Manager (Ofsted) will be; 

  • Lead and oversee a long stay children's home for children and young people with learning and physical disabilities, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
  • Recruit, induct, and develop a skilled, motivated, and cohesive staff team.
  • Provide high quality, supportive 1 to 1 supervision and reflective guidance to your direct reports, fostering professional growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, community organisations, partner agencies, and other external stakeholders.
  • Build effective networks and partnerships to support the well-being, development, and opportunities for children and young people.
  • Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted standards, delivering consistently high-quality care through effective leadership, management and oversight.
  • Champion a culture of person-centred care, inclusion, and continuous improvement, inspiring your team to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.

Let's talk about you  

Whilst a management qualification Level 5 would be great, we are open to those with experience in a management role within a residential/social care setting.   

  • You have at least two years’ experience in the last five years working in a role relevant to residential childcare.
  • You have at least one year of experience in an early leadership role, demonstrating your ability to guide and support a team.
  • You have a strong commitment to creating an inclusive service that meets the diverse needs of children and young people.
  • You’re able to establish and maintain a workforce that promotes an inclusive, positive, and supportive environment
  • You have knowledge and understanding of Ofsted requirements in the Children's Home (England) regulations 2015.
  • You have relevant experience working directly with children and young people in a residential care setting.
  • You possess strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team.
