Multi-Skilled Technician - Joiner

About the role
We are looking to add a Multi-Skilled Joiner to our team covering sites in Chesterfield, Derby & surrounding areas. You will support the delivery of responsive repairs using your joinery skills, as well as carrying out general multi-skilled work.  

This is a full-time, permanent vacancy, working 39 hours per week, and there is a requirement to cover out-of-hours callout on a rota basis, which offers an additional payment.

We’re looking for a skilled Joiner with strong core carpentry abilities and solid multi‑trade capability to deliver high‑quality first‑time fixes. You’ll work confidently in a customer‑focused, target‑driven environment, following procedures, keeping accurate records, and managing your workload independently. The role requires good decision‑making, safe working practices, and the physical ability to carry out joinery tasks in line with Health and Safety guidelines.

The successful candidate will live within 45 minutes of Chesterfield to be able to reach our resident locations in a timely manner.  You must have a full UK driving licence, and there is a requirement for a basic DBS check, which will be paid for by The Guinness Partnership. 

You will be able to demonstrate

Essential:

• Demonstrable competence within required primary trade. 
• Various multi-trade skills and experience, sufficient to enable the completion of repairs at the first visit (first time fix). 
• Experience of working in a customer focused environment within agreed performance targets. 
• Proven ability to work methodically, follow agreed procedures and accurately record data and information. 
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate organisational and time management skills. 
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems seeking any advice required. 
• Ability to carry out physical tasks and lift weights in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines. 
• Ability to operate safely having taken into account any environmental circumstances and possible risks. 
• Demonstrate the Guinness Behaviours.

Desirable:

• Experience of working within the social housing sector.

Qualifications

Essential:

• NVQ Level 3 (City & Guilds) Trade Qualification or equivalent recognised competency in the required trade.
