Interpreter

Middle Eastern Interpreting (MEI) is a Yorkshire-based interpreting and translation company built on transparency, accuracy, and integrity. We work with clients, interpreters, and the wider community to bridge language and cultural gaps with honesty and clarity.

We are currently expanding our network of freelance interpreters to support work across various private and public sector organisations. As part of MEI, you would be joining a supportive team committed to clear communication and meaningful community impact.

We are currently looking for:

• Face-to-face interpreters
• Telephone interpreters
• Video interpreters
• Translators
• Sign language professionals

If you are fluent in English and another language, and would like flexible, meaningful work that contributes to better communication and community understanding, we would love to hear from you.

• Fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Dari, Pashto, Kurdish (Sorani or Kurmanji), Farsi, Turkish, Hebrew, Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Chechen, Russian, Uzbek, Tajik, Kazakh, Urdu, Punjabi, Sylheti, Tamil, Algerian, Moroccan, Levantine, Sureth, or Tigrinya.
• Adherence to Middle Eastern Interpreting (MEI)’s Code of Conduct.
• Previous experience in interpreting or translation.
• Excellent communication, punctuality, and professionalism.
• Strong customer service skills and proactive approach to work.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• A valid DBS check is desirable.
• Interpreting qualifications are desirable but not essential.
