Competitive Salary + Benefits

Marshalls plc is the UK’s leading hard landscaping, building and roofing products supplier and has supplied some of the most prestigious landmarks in the UK since the 1890s. We’ve held Superbrand status since 2010, and we’re a successful FTSE 250! Every step we take, and every product we make is geared towards making the world around us a better place to live.

We’ve always believed that HR is about people, not just processes. Our team acts as a dedicated support system, helping colleagues navigate careers and reach their full potential. We’re a passionate, collaborative team that values transparent communication and a genuine culture of growth. Our people are the heart of everything we do, and we take pride in nurturing the talent that drives our business forward.

We now have a new opportunity for an HR Business Partner to join our team. This role isn’t about sitting behind a desk; it’s about being out there with leaders across fast-paced manufacturing and commercial teams, adding real value to their day-to-day work and tackling unique challenges head-on. You will get stuck in, add real value to their operations, and help them tackle their unique challenges head-on. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact and see your ideas come to life, we want to hear from you!

So, what’s the mission?
You will work closely with senior leaders to ensure our people strategy aligns with our business goals. You will take a lead role in building people plans that drive our operational priorities, ensuring every HR initiative has a purpose. Whether you’re navigating complex employee relations or advising on organisational design, your focus remains on keeping our teams connected. You’ll be ready to identify organisational issues and recommend practical, people-focused solutions that work in a fast-moving operation.

You’ll be ready to lead on projects that move the needle, from driving cultural and behavioural change programmes to focusing on change management, evolving our culture, and driving talent progression. By building strong relationships with our partners in Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Engagement, and Reward, you’ll help us shape a workplace that empowers every colleague to be their best. We don’t just want to keep things running; we want you to help us grow, ensuring our culture remains as resilient and ambitious as the people who build it.

You understand that the best decisions aren't made from behind a desk, which is why you’ll meet with colleagues and leaders across our UK sites, from our bustling quarries to state-of-the-art manufacturing sites. This "boots on the ground" perspective allows you to build relationships and see our operations first-hand, ensuring you don’t just report on data, but put it into context for our leaders. Your commercial awareness will allow you to translate people data into real insight, acting as the bridge between the numbers and the people to keep us on the front foot and moving forward with confidence.

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • A seasoned HR professional with experience in a fast-paced HRBP or similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in partnering with senior leaders to influence and deliver people-focused strategies
  • Proven ability to build people plans that align with business strategy
  • Ability to diagnose organisational issues and recommend practical, people-focused solutions
