Head of Central Vendor Management Practice/Office<\/span><\/u><\/b>
<\/div>

You will be responsible for the establishment and effective running of the central Vendor Management Practice/Office, working in tandem with the GCIO (Group Chief Information Office) business (GBGI) aligned Vendor Management teams to establish strategy & best practice.<\/span>
<\/p>

The role will sit in the pillar of vendor management and work within the centre of an overall community of practice hence the ability to co -ordinate a consolidated view of vendors across a matrix of stakeholders is a key element of the role.<\/span>
<\/p>

The ideal candidate will need to come from an <\/span>Investment banking background.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

Deal Initiation/Assurance<\/span><\/b> & Financial Planning<\/b><\/span>
<\/p>

  • Ensure alignment of key parties to agree objectives and support the development of the Tech/Business strategy to deliver. <\/span>
    <\/li><\/ul>

    Negotiation & Contracting<\/span><\/b>
    <\/p>

    • Review existing contracts – identify and follow up on contracting themes/opportunity for better practice and implementation of guidelines and 3rd<\/sup> party uplifts.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Support CIO’s in planning and contracting for exits, transitions from non -strategic platforms/contracts.<\/span>
      <\/li><\/ul>

      Approvals & Execution<\/span><\/b>
      <\/p>

      • Confirm contract meets requirements, including funding and P&L impact.<\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Support approval briefings, incl. COO, Finance and Tech.<\/span>
        <\/li><\/ul>

        Vendor Performance and Vendor Governance framework<\/span><\/b>
        <\/p>

        • Analysing and creating, where appropriate, measurement to ensure SLA adherence and continuous improvement of the Vendors performance (and reviewed in governance forums)<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Create engaging and dynamic scorecards and comms material.<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Identifying and delivering contractual reviews and improvement areas.  Negotiating with the vendor to deliver contract amendments.<\/span>
          <\/li><\/ul>

          Vendor Management Practice/VMO (specifically)<\/span><\/b>
          <\/p>

          • Build and maintain a strategic and progressive relationship with Procurement – focusing on process and tooling improvements to the benefit of GCIO as a recipient of procurement services<\/span>
            <\/li>
          • Produce and maintain the framework and documentation/artefacts to logically and simply provide organisation, guidance and engagement for the central vendor management team and the wider GCIO Vendor Management community (known as the Vendor Management Pillar)<\/span>

            Leadership & Teamwork<\/span><\/b> <\/span>
            <\/p>

            • Chair Vendor Management Meetings<\/span>
              <\/li>
            • Chair Vendor Governance meetings as appropriate<\/span>
              <\/li>
            • Design, gain buy -in and run internal governance meetings and forums as required<\/span>
              <\/li>
            • Run/Oversee Vendor related projects/initiatives<\/span>
              <\/li>
            • Relationship and Stakeholder Management<\/span>
              <\/li><\/ul>

              Functional Knowledge<\/span><\/b>
              <\/p>

              • Proven track record in technology vendor management role within the financial services industry, preferably within multinational banks<\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Strong understanding of Technology operational management requirements for banks and knowledge of the external environment - regulatory, political, competitor and market<\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Ability to translate technology strategy and align with vendors accordingly<\/span>
                <\/li>
              • SME across Third party risk management lifecycle and Third -party regulatory landscape<\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Experience of operating within a complex matrix environment<\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Deep financial and commercial awareness<\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Demonstrable experience in driving vendor performance, delivering service improvement plans and managing vendors across all contract types (T&M, Manage Services, hardware and software)<\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively<\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Contract knowledge and able to design contracts to meet the requirements of the business<\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Strong analytical and problem -solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and make data -driven decisions to drive business outcomes<\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Knowledge of the external environment - regulatory, political, competitor and market<\/span>
