About MAG:
MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.
About the role:
Reporting to the Global Head of Procurement and Logistics, the Global Fleet Manager leads on the development and adoption of MAG’s Global Fleet Management Standards, promoting continuous improvement and quality management culture across all MAG locations. You will act as a global focal point, supporting both remotely and through field visits to ensure the quality and effectiveness of management processes and internal controls used across a wide range of motorised assets including light vehicles, generators, and heavy vehicles. You will act as the business owner of MAG’s Standard Specifications for Motorised Assets, and in collaboration with the Global Mechanical Technical Advisor you will supervise the full lifecycle of the management process, provide technical guidance and ensure the development and implementation of effective quality assurance processes. You will work with key stakeholders, including MAG leadership, to design and rollout initiatives to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and environmental impact reduction of MAG’s fleet.
Please note that as part of MAG's commitment to safeguarding, this post is subject to background checks before an offer of employment is confirmed. For more information on MAG’s approach to safeguarding and background checks on our website.
MAG is committed to the principles of diversity, equality and inclusion. If you think you would be suited to one of our roles we would welcome your application regardless of your background. We strive to provide an inclusive and supportive working environment where all employees feel respected and supported in fulfilling their potential.
About you:
You will have direct experience managing large fleets within complex operating environments, including 4x4 and heavy vehicles. Demonstrable understanding of the challenges and constraints associated with operating specialised fleet in challenging contexts is essential, as is the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and work calmly under pressure. You should be adept with reporting systems, dashboard management tools, and data analysis, and able to effectively utilise fleet management data to inform and coordinate global initiatives. You will have excellent written and spoken English language skills including experience writing and reviewing policies and SOPs. You should be inclusive and facilitatory, with experience capacity building senior and junior colleagues, acting as a technical leader, and leading the adoption of processes and standards across multiple locations.
MAG’s areas of operations are often remote with basic amenities, so you will need to be able to live and work in challenging environments, where the need for your skills and MAG’s work is most.

Benefits and Further Information:
This role has been classified as ‘roving’. This means that you will be expected to be visiting MAG’s programmes for 60% of your working time or more. When not travelling or in a MAG programme, you will be based at home. MAG will consider applications from candidates who are based in any country, however, the final decision on whether employment in a specific country location can be supported will be based on a compliance and budget check, and be reviewed by MAG’s senior management. You should therefore clearly set out the country that you would wish to be based remotely in. Please note that the terms and conditions of employment may be set according to location, to ensure legal compliance, and therefore it is not possible to include full details here. The details provided below are relevant to UK-based applicants.
Where a candidate is based on a location where MAG is not registered as an employer, employment may be through an Employer of Record service. In all cases, the employee will be subject to tax and other statutory deductions in line with the relevant law of their country of domicile. You should therefore clearly set out the country that you would wish to be based remotely in, and MAG will provide further details on the method of employment in that country, and the relevant tax and statutory deduction implications, to candidates invited for interview.
