As a Fire Joinery Technician, you will deliver an effective, customer-oriented repair and maintenance service across the Together Housing Group properties. Utilising your joinery skills, you will carry out tasks to exceptional standards, aiming to complete them in a single visit whenever possible. This position is hands-on, with a strong emphasis on fire safety. Your responsibilities will include the installation of fire doors and fire-stopping materials, as well as ensuring all work meets fire compartmentation standards. You will also independently diagnose issues and perform repairs, prioritise safety at all times, and maintain a high level of professionalism in your interactions with tenants and colleagues.

Outline of Key Responsibilities as a Fire Joinery Technician
- Carry out all types of joinery repairs to occupied and vacant properties, ensuring quality, compliance and “right first time” delivery.
- Install fire doors and fire-stopping to protect fire compartmentation.
- Plan and organise your workload efficiently, minimising downtime and ensuring work is completed safely and on schedule.
- Provide excellent customer care, protecting tenants’ homes during works, communicating clearly, and maintaining a clean, tidy working environment.
- Use your initiative to diagnose issues, obtain approvals where required and ensure cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments, and working procedures, reporting hazards promptly.
- Manage van stock responsibly, ensuring materials are accounted for, and uphold vehicle safety and cleanliness standards.
We are looking for someone who has...
- Experience in all aspects of joinery within repairs and maintenance.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service.
- Experience maximising jobs completed within one visit.
- Experience installing fire-rated joinery products (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety within repair and maintenance environments.
- City & Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent (NVQ Level 2) – Essential
- NVQ Level 2 Passive Fire Protection (or willingness to achieve within 24 months) – Essential
- Full driving licence – Essential

- In this position, you will be operating in the field, covering the areas of Yorkshire and Calderdale.
- You will work a total of 37 hours per week, scheduled between 08:00 and 19:30 across any five days from Monday to Saturday. The exact schedule will depend on business needs at the time.
- Your normal working hours will be 37hrs per week 8am - 4pm Monday - Thursday and 8am - 3:30pm on a Friday
