Purpose of the role:

In this 10-month placement as a Customer Insights Intern, you will support the Customer Insights team in uncovering and translating customer understanding into clear, actionable insights. This is a development-focused role designed for a student taking a year out in industry between their second and final year of university, offering hands-on exposure to customer research, feedback analysis, and insight storytelling within a fast-paced financial services environment. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Commercial, Product, Customer Services, and Operations, learning how insight shapes decision-making and improves customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities/what you’ll do:

  • Support the analysis of customer feedback across key channels (e.g. surveys, Customer Satisfaction Score [CSAT], Net Promoter Score [NPS], verbatim comments, service interactions).
  • Assist with the delivery of primary research activities (e.g. surveys, interviews, unmoderated testing) including set-up, note-taking, and basic analysis.
  • Help organise and synthesise findings into simple themes, summaries, and clear takeaways for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to regular insight reporting (e.g. monthly performance summaries, recurring themes, emerging customer friction points).
  • Support the creation of presentations and insight readouts, helping translate findings into accessible stories and recommendations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g. Product, Marketing, Customer Experience, Customer Services) to understand business questions and how insights can support them.
  • Conduct desk research on customer behaviour, market trends, and competitor approaches to add context to insight work.
  • Help maintain and improve insight documentation and repositories, so research is easy to find, reuse, and build on.
  • Learn and apply good research practices, including data privacy, consent, and responsible handling of customer information.

Salary: £28,300
Interview dates: Apr-May
Placement dates: September 2026 to June 2027

To apply for this role, you will need:

  • To be eligible to work in the UK
  • To be over 18 years old as of 1st September 2026
  • To be a 2nd year student in a full-time undergraduate degree with an industry placement year, in a subject relevant to this role (e.g. Psychology, etc.)
  • To have achieved a minimum of 104 UCAS points at A-level (grades BCC) or an equivalent qualification (e.g., BTEC DMM)
  • Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) grades A* to C (new grades 9 to 4)
  • Experience with research methodologies and governance processes is desirable
