Derby City and South Derbyshire CAMHS are incredibly excited to be expanding and developing our Peer Support Worker Team who will also lead in co-production and participation across all service levels. 

Working across the CAMHS teams, the appointed candidate will work as a CAMHS Peer Support Worker to directly support service users in achieving their treatment goals and engaging in agreed care plans. The direct work may be one to one or in a group setting. Peer Groups will be lead by the peer support worker and therapeutic groups will be co-facilitated. The role will also endeavour to ensure that the principles of participation and co-production remain at the heart of our service, and that all involvement projects remain meaningful and appropriate. The appointed candidate will ensure that service that children, young people and families are heard, acknowledged and represented at all stages of care and within all service evaluation and developments.

The CAMHS Peer Support worker will work within the MDT supporting and treating Children and Young People accessing mental health services. They will ensure the child and families voice is heard in all decision making and encourage for participation and coproduction at all service levels. 

To do this you will need to:

  • Have your own lived experience of mental health challenges and access to service. 

·       IT skills e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, Web Design, Powerpoint

·       Your communication skills and flair for building relationships will be excellent

·       Willingness to develop the confidence to speak in large and small groups

·       You will be caring and supportive as well as emotionally resilient, highly organised and open to working within changing environments

·       You will be able to travel independently across the locality areas.
