THE ROLE
boohooMAN on the hunt for a new Trading Director / Commercial Director.
Reporting to the CEO, you are their right-hand person, leading day-to-day operations and executing the vision and strategy for the CEO. The Trading Director plays a pivotal role in scaling the business by driving operational excellence, developing and executing strategies to drive sales, whilst fostering innovation across our product, marketing and ecommerce functions so we continue to improve our customer experience.
You will scale growth, fuel innovation, and make sure every move we make, from product and pricing to marketing and customer experience, delivers commercial success and brand impact. It’s about pace, precision, and performance.
This role will be based out of our central Manchester office.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Key Responsibilities
· Supports the CEO in devising and executing the overall vision and strategy and performance goals for boohooMAN.
· Translating strategy into actionable steps and KPIs for growth and operational excellence.
· Oversees daily operations across all departments, supporting the department leads where required.
· Leads the development and execution of the trading strategy to maximise sales margin and profitability, supporting the team in their decision-making to maximise sales.
· Works with centralised Group functions to maximise boohooMAN growth opportunities.
· Works with the Head of Finance and Group Finance to monitor financial budgets, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and to grow EBITDA.
· Together with the Head of Finance, Heads of Marketing and Head of Creative reviews the efficiency of marketing spends by channel by market.
· Work with the senior leadership team to identify and implement new business opportunities. Devising a partnership and marketplace strategy, for boohooMAN.
· Support expansion initiatives including new markets and products.
· Supporting the team to build and manage key partners and stakeholders.
· Operate as the CEO number two deputising where necessary.
· Support the CEO lead a high performing team mentoring the department heads where appropriate ensuring all department work together to deliver the strategy.
· Establish and enforce policies that promote company culture and vision.
· Foster a success-oriented accountable environment.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Your Skills, Knowledge and Experience
· Proven experience in a Trading Director, Commercial Director, or COO role within fashion retail (ideally fast fashion or streetwear).
· Strong commercial acumen; you know your numbers, can spot opportunities fast, and make data-led decisions that drive profit.
· Deep understanding of digital retail and ecommerce performance levers, from trading and conversion to customer journey optimisation.
· Experience managing large-scale budgets and driving cross-functional performance.
· Strategic thinker with the ability to translate high-level vision into clear commercial action plans.
· Exceptional leadership skills, capable of motivating teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
· Strong understanding of the menswear / youth market and global fashion trends.
· Experience working within a matrixed or group structure, collaborating across shared functions (finance, marketing, tech).
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
· Results-driven, resilient and adaptable; thrives under pressure and change.
